Luis Suarez can't train while he's banned

FIFA made it clear on Friday that Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez cannot train with his club or his country while he is banned for four months from "all football-related activity".

The ban was handed to him by a disciplinary commission after he bit Italy's Giorgio Chiellini in a World Cup match.

A spokesman from FIFA told Press Association Sport: "He is not allowed to participate in any football activity during the ban period, and as such is also not allowed to train with the team during the ban."

Claudio Sulser, the disciplinary chief of world football's governing body, had suggested on Thursday the 27-year-old would be allowed to train with his club, thus leading to Friday's clarification.

However the ban will definitely not prevent Suarez from moving clubs this summer.

The Liverpool forward is expected to tie up a move Barcelona next week.
