What was Ilkay Gundogan doing in Barcelona on Monday? German magainze 'Kicker' revealed that the Borussia Dortmund midfielder was in the Catalan city this week and the visit could be to do with a possible move to Barça.
Gundogan, who will not continue at Dortmund next season after announcing he will not extend his contract, did not want to tell Bild the reasons for his trip: "I have nothing to say in repsect to that," he said when asked about being in Barcelona.
The name of Ilkay Gundogan has been linked with Barça several times in recent years, although a back injury quelled rumours. His return this season has returned his name to the media, with Manchester United also linked with his signature.
Barça's transfer ban means they wouldn't be able to sign him until January, but the likely departure of Xavi Hernandez would create space for a new midfielder.
