Exclusive: Mascherano is tired of Barcelona and wants to leave this summer

Javier Mascherano is more out than in at Barcelona right now. The Argentine international is fed up of the club’s continued unfulfillment of contractual promises and is determined to leave unless there is a radical change in the coming weeks. 

Mascherano has offers from elsewhere up and feels that Barça have not treated him as he deserves to be treated. He communicated as much to the club four months ago after thoroughly talking the decision through with those closest to him and his representatives. 

It’s likely that there will be a new meeting to try and rectify the situation, but it will prove difficult to arrive at an agreement between all the parties. 

The player has already spoken with both Barça and Luis Enrique to express his desire to leave and is waiting for developments from the Copa America. 

A few days ago he expressed the possibility of staying - “I can’t force an exit” - but the reality is, at the moment, very different. 

As revealed by SPORT, Juventus have been speaking to him for a while and there is an agreement between Mascherano and the Italian club.
