Dani Alves explains 'comfort' is the reason he's leaving Camp Nou

Brazilian right-back Dani Alves has already confirmed his departure from Barcelona and his move to Juventus, but after Brazil’s goalless draw at the Copa America with Ecuador, he also explained the reasons behind his move.

“I think that as people, we have to leave our comfort zones. For that reason, I’ve left a comfortable position. Barça are an incredible club, but I was in too much of a comfortable position there,” he explained in the mixed zone.

“I’m a person that when I feel comfortable, it means something is going wrong. What drives me are challenges, which [now] is to fight to make history in another place. I hope that things continue in the same manner, but now in another place.”

Alves revealed that the talks with Juve are advanced, although he said he has still not signed his new contract, as had been reported by some media previously

“It’s not true that it is signed, but I’m about to sign. What is certain is that I won’t continue at Barcelona.” the defender added, who has exercised his right to leave the Catalan club for free after the first year of a two-year deal signed in 2015.
