The Blaugrana will take the case to the RFEF competition committee and the Anti-violence board

Al-Thani implied he does not want them to win La Liga, with Madrid set to visit La Rosaleda on the final day

Barcelona will report Malaga president Abdullah Al-Thani for a tweet that implies their team will not try against Real Madrid on the final day of the season.

Al-Thani wrote: “The scum from Catalunya will not get a sniff of the league after their lies about Michel [Malaga’s coach].”

Malaga host Real Madrid in the final league game of the season and with the title race going down to the wire Barcelona were unhappy.

They announced: “FC Barcelona expresses its rejection of and indignation towards the contents of a tweet published by the president of Malaga CF, Abdullah Al-Thani, with sentiments that threaten the principles of fair play, of ethics and the legality that should govern sporting competition.

“For this reason the club will report this case to the Anti-violence Committee, the Superior Council for Sport and will refer the matter to the competition committee of the Spanish football federation (RFEF) and the Department of Integrity of La Liga.”
