Bayern Munich forward Thomas Muller asked for forgiveness from Argentine defender Nicolas Tagliafico after a brutal foul on him which earned the German a red card during the 3-3 Champions League clash with Ajax on Wednesday.
"Through this medium I want to apologise to Nico Tagliafico for what happened last night. It was not intentional. Get well soon," wrote Muller on Twitter.
Muller kicked Tagliafico in the head with a brutally high boot as he tried to get the ball. It looked like something from a kung fu film.
The German is said to have gone to the Ajax dressing room to apologise but Tagliafico had already gone.
It was Muller's first red card since he started his career in 2009.
