James Rodriguez won't be returning to Real Madrid. Following Zinedine Zidane's decision to come back to the club, it essentially ends any hope the Colombian international had of getting a second chance with Los Blancos.
Rodriguez joined Bayern on a two-year loan deal after he failed to win his place in the team with Zidane at the helm. The player had hoped following the unsuccessful stints of Lopetegui and Solari in the dugout might open the door for him to get another opportunity in Madrid. However that appears unlikely now that Zidane is back in control.
Bayern have the option to turn the loan deal into a permanent one for the price of €42m. Yet Rodriguez's recent performances haven't been great and now it appears their desire to sign him on a deal has cooled. It'll be interesting to see what teams might try to secure the Colombian's signature in the summer.
