"There is a possibility that Luka Jovic signs for Real Madrid." The comments of Fredi Bobic, Eintracht Frankfurt's director of football, to German television channel ZDF have confirmed that the young striker could be joining Zinedine Zidane's project next season and competing with Karim Benzema in attack.
Frankfurt executed an option to sign Jovic last week, paying six million euros to make his loan move from Benfica into a permanent one.
"I hope and I want Luka to stay here, but I am also realistic and I know that if he big club comes in and wants him, we don't have a chance of keeping him," Bobic admitted. "There's a possibility that he signs for Real Madrid."
Benfica still have an interest in Jovic's future. They will receive a percentage of any future sale (speculated to be around 20 percent).
Jovic is one of the hottest properties in Europe. Barcelona have also shown an interest in him, as revealed by the player's father. "We have several options, one is Barça," but the young forward worried that "he won't get minutes there."
So far this season the Serbian has scored 25 goals in all competitions. His price could be north of 50 million euros. Zidane likes his movement.
