Real Madrid and Atlético Madrid have agreed a deal which will see Marcos Llorente join up with Diego Simeone next season. Both clubs have released statements confirming the deal.
The only thing lacking to make it official is the player successfully passing a medical. Once that's done, Llorente will sign a five-year contract with Atletico.
It appears Llorente will be tasked with replacing Rodri, who who sets to join Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.
Real Madrid said they thanked Llorente for his "all his years of professionalism and perfect behaviour" since he joined their academy in 2008. They also wished him luck on the next stage of his career.
