Marco Asensio explained his feelings after signing on at Real Madrid until 2023. "It's a very important day for me. To extend my contract with the biggest club in the world makes me proud. Last year was a great year in which I grew a lot and this season has started very well. My objective is the same, to win as many titles as possible with Madrid."
Favourite goal: "The goal in the Champions League final, it's a dream goal. To be able to compete in a Champions League final, to win it with Real Madrid and to score was incredible and exciting."
Rotations: "The coach already knows how he has to deal with me. I have my goals and my goal is to always play. I understand that there are other players and we have to share minutes because we are a team and last year we won everything like that. Right now there are other players who are more important. I’m young, I’m happy here and I want to live year by year and step by step. I feel important, I'm in good form. Whenever the coach gives me minutes, I’ll try to take advantage of them."
National team: "Going with the national team is a real honour. Being able to represent my country in such an important year is special. I’ll work hard to be able to go to the World Cup."
His family: "It’s all gone a little fast but I’ve been able to take it well thanks to my family who have supported me in the good times and the harder times. All this is thanks to them."
Idols: My idol was Zidane and now he’s my coach. I’m surprised by Cristiano Ronaldo every day because of the ambition he has to win. That infects all his teammates."
Youth: "I’ve spent all my life in Mallorca. Since I arrived here I felt at home. I’m part of this great family that is Real Madrid. At first it’s a bit difficult, you have to work hard. Now, in order to keep up, you also have to work hard because the demand is so high, you have to perform at the highest level. I can improve a lot. I’ve got a lot of room for improvement. I’m young, every year I have to grow and improve things."
