Real Madrid full-back Marcelo Viera stood by his comment that his compatriot Neymar "would fit in" at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Marcelo said he thought Neymar would fit in well Real Madrid in a recent interview and was asked how the fans would receive him in the case that he joined the club.

"Madrid fans like the great players and Neymar's one of them," the Brazilian said in a press conference ahead of the Champions League game against Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday.

"He's a worlwide star and any fan in the world would want to have Neymar in their team."

Marcelo revealed that in recent days he's exchanged "various messages" with Neymar "but none about football" and said that Madrid's focus shouldn't just be on the former Barça forward going into the PSG game.

"Neymar's a great player, at a great level, but we shouldn't just focus on him, but on PSG as a whole."

In addition, Marcelo cleared up that in a recent interview he didn't say that Neymar will play for Madrid "but that he could play for Madrid."
