Real Madrid's Luka Modric has been hit with a new tax punishment, according to a report in El Mundo on Friday. The midfielder is estimated to have avoided paying €1.2 million in taxes in the year he signed for Los Blancos, 2012.

Remember that Modric has an ongoing case with the tax office after being accused of not paying €2.1m in taxes in the years 2013 and 2014, charges he is fighting.

The new charges, though, are said to relate to an administrative error, given he filed in the UK having left Tottenham when he should have changed to Spain.
