Liverpool midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will miss most of the 2018-19 season with the injury he suffered against AS Roma in the Champions League semi-finals.
The 24-year-old ruptured his cruciate ligament in his knee and must rehabilitate.
"It feels like now is an appropriate time to tell people that for Ox, this season will be about focusing on recovery and rehab," said Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.
"We have known this from pretty much the day after he got the injury."
Liverpool hope he can feature in the final few weeks of the upcoming season.
