Manchester United's board are looking for a substitute for Jose Mourinho And Tottenham coach Mauricio Pochettino is the chosen one according to The Sun, who say the Red Devils are willing to pay 45 million euros for the Argentine.
Mourinho's time at United has been heavily criticised. His team are eighth, 18 points off top spot, which is held by rivals Manchester City. With six wins, five draws and four defeats, the Portuguese's team is not living up to expectations of reaching the Champions League.
Precisely, not reaching that competition will see Mourinho kicked out. If they get knocked out this year at the group phase, United would have to pay less if they sacked him.
Spurs, meanwhile, are third, ahead of Chelsea, Arsenal and Everton. Pochettino renewed his contract with them for five seasons at 9m euros a year recently, making it harder to move to United.
