Atletico Madrid forward Kevin Gameiro is a target for Ronald Koeman's Everton in January, according to British newspaper The Sun.
The report says Koeman's sounding out the market already as he looks to improve his squad in the winter following a disappointing start to the season.
Everton have just seven points from their six games, just three points more than West Ham, who are in the final relegation place.
The possibility of signing Gameiro has increased in recent weeks, with Angel Correa playing more than the Frenchman and Atletico completing the signing of Diego Costa.
Gameiro is not even in the squad for Wednesday's Champions League game against Chelsea.
Despite their investment this summer -- 150 million euros on signings, not counting Wayne Rooney, who arrived on a free but with big wages -- Everton are not performing as expected.
