Atlético Madrid are working hard to keep their star players at the club. As reported by Cadena SER's 'Carrusel Deportivo', Jan Oblak is the next person set to sign a bumper new contract. It'll make the giant stopper the second highest paid player in the squad behind Antoine Griezmann.
After being linked with mega money moves to Paris Saint-German and Chelsea in recent windows, Atleti are finally moving to secure the goalkeeper the extension he deserves. In particular, a key reason behind this is to increase his currently accessible €100m buyout clause.
Oblak's agent, Miha Mlakar, was present during Atletico's 2-0 victory over Juventus. During the same visit he met with the club to finalise the details on his client's new deal. Originally there were complaints about the salary on offer but that appears to have now been resolved.
