Daniel Wass smashed in an effort from the edge of the box to break the deadlock and Rodrigo swiftly doubled the lead after being teed up by Santi Mina.

Mina notched twice himself before Xabier Etxeita put through his own net for the fifth goal in the 40th minute.

Rodrigo netted again after half-time but Gonzalo Melero and Alex Gallar hit back for Huesca to ensure they had some happy memories even as they went down.

Valencia move level with Sevilla, three points behind Getafe, fourth, with two games to go, in the race to qualify for next season’s Champions League.
