Spanish right-back Juanfran Torres, until now an Atletico Madrid player, has decided to move to the Brazilian league, accepting an offer to join Sao Paulo.
Juanfran will become teammates with Dani Alves, who also joined the club this week, signing a new deal until 2022.
According to Globoesporte, the 34-year-old will join for free after his contract expired with Atletico. He will sign until 2020. The club are excited by the signing.
The plan is for him to play at right-back and Alves to play ahead of him or in a more advanced position.
Globoesporte reveal that Diego Lugano, good friends with Diego Godin, was key in the negotiations and recommended the deal to Sao Paulo and to Juanfran.
