One of the main reasons that FC Barcelona had to back away from a deal for Matthijs de Ligt was because of the player's agent, Mino Raiola.
The poor relationship between the famous agent and Barça stems back from Zlatan Ibrahimovic's time at the club. Raiola had his issues with the then-coach Pep Guardiola, as well as Barça, and neither side has really forgotten or forgiven.
Raiola is now set to pocket an incredible €11m when de Ligt signs for Juventus. The Italian club will pay Ajax €80m to bring the young defender to Turin.
And it gets even better for the Italian agent as he'll earn almost double that should de Ligt move again in the not too distant future. Remember, Juve have included a €150m buyout clause in de Ligt's deal.
Despite more money being on offer from PSG, Raiola has convinced the defender to pick Juventus as the best option for his future. He'll continue his progression at a bigger club - and on a larger stage - but €150m means he isn't unattainable for richer sides in the future.
