Now, Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeness, not for the first time, has gone on the attack. Hoeness has warned that Bayern will not accept Ter Stegen being No.1 and even threatened that the Bavarian would club would not supply players to Germany if that were the case.

"We will not accept a change of guard (in the goalkeeping position," he said, according to Sport Bild. ""If that happens, we will no longer release players for the national team."

Neuer is captain and goalkeeper for Germany but Ter Stegen, who's been at an elite level for a long time now, is hoping for more opportunities.
