Whether Andres Iniesta starts or not is one of the big questions ahead of Barcelona's game against Chelsea in the Champions League.
Iniesta's been missing with a hamstring injury since the win over Atletico Madrid but has returned to training this week.
Barça will leave it late before making a decision on the midfielder, who is key to their style.
"Iniesta did part of the training session on Monday without a problem," Valverde said. "We will see how he is on Tuesday.
"We will decide later. We know it’s an important game. It’s down to the player, I don’t know if he will play or not. It’s a game you to be at 100 percent in."
Valverde added it may well be a case of weighing up how big the risk is and if it is worth taking.
"When you have a game like this, a game of no return we could say, players are always more willing to push themselves," he said.
"We need to decide how big the risk is -- we will see."
