Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde denied any approach regarding Neymar's potential return to the club as he spoke to the press ahead of Sunday's La Liga game against Eibar.
El Mundo reported that Neymar, or, in concrete, his father and agent, had contact Barça up to five times to ask the Catalan club to take him back. Valverde was clear when dealing with the issue, though.
"I guarantee you that no one has called me about [a return] and we don't talk about players that play for other teams," Valverde said, adding that "Neymar plays for Paris Saint-Germain and we respect the player and the club."
Valverde said that "Neymar's a great player, a world class player who was here before but he isn't anymore. Nothing else."
The coach added that "during a year a lot of news stories come out" without revealing if there is any chance the Brazilian forward could return to Camp Nou 18 months after leaving for the French champions.
