Ernesto Valverde said on Monday that his team have a special week ahead of them, above all because of Saturday's Copa del Rey final against Sevilla.
Before then, though, Barcelona play Celta Vigo in La Liga and Valverde says he will make changes from the side which beat Valencia on Saturday.
"There will be changes to the team tomorrow because it's an important week and because we go into it on the back of a run of intense games," the Barça coach said.
Asked specifically about Lionel Messi, he said he could be one of the players rested, although he played down worries in Argentina over the forward's fitness.
“There’s a possibility that [Messi] rests, as is the case with other players,” Valverde added. .
“But there’s nothing to worry about. He played well the other day against Valencia. I don’t know what else to say, but they can relax in Argentina. There’s a long way to go before the World Cup.”
Ivan Rakitic will not be fit for the Celta game but Valverde "hopes" he will be back for Saturday's cup final.
