Ernesto Valverde se mostró satisfecho tras su debut como técnico del FC Barcelona con una prestigiosa victoria ante la Juventus, vigente subcampeón de Europa. Estas son las frases más destacadas del 'Txingurri'.

Debut: I take a lot of good things, above all the application of the players, everyone was together. We took the initiative in the game, playing further forward with the intention of dominating the game. It was a game in which we were able to give minutes to players, so good feelings, good work and if you can win even better.

Neymar: Barca are not going to go without Neymar. We want him with us, we know the importance he has in our play.

Sergi Roberto: Right now he's back in the middle of the pitch. But his versatility is a good, positive thing. I don't think it's one or the other. Today he played in midfield, in the future and this season we will see.

Samper: He did well, just like the rest of the players. It was a difficult season last year for him on loan with a team which had a lot of problems. We’re going to evaluate his situation. He will do pre-season with us, then we will take a decision, while speaking with him.

Pressing: It’s something we have to manage throughout the season. To be honest, [we have] not worked on it a lot because we've not had a lot of time. The idea of pressing or not pressing depends on our strength in that moment, above all if we can do it together because everyone has to compromise to do it and it’s something we will be training for.

Messi: I will get to know him better with time. But I'm not discovering him, we all know him even if he surprises us everyday. I will try and help him so that our team is even better and wins more titles.

Messi position: I saw him focused, with complete application, both in attack and defence. He knows better than anyone where he needs to be to get the ball and where the team will find him.
