Denis Suarez was dropped from Barcelona's squad for Wednesday's game against Sevilla in the Copa del Rey quarterfinal first leg at the last minut. Barça revealed officially that he was the odd one out after Kevin Prince Boateng's paperwork came through. But the real reason is to do with putting pressure on the player.

Denis has taken the decision to leave Barça if a deal's struck with Arsenal, the club who have made him the most attractive offer. The English club's coach, Unai Emery, has transmitted his faith in him and said he will give him minutes from the off. Denis is prioritising the football side of things above anything else and wants to move to London.

Barça have other offers

Arsenal want Denis but they cannot pay to do a transfer this month. For that reason, Denis could only go to England on loan. That's the problem. Barça have received in recent hours better offers which they would like the midfielder to accept. But none are as appealing to Denis as Arsenal and he doesn't want to commit his future to another club.

As ocurred with Munir, Barca's strategy is to force him into a decision. They stopped calling up the now Sevilla striker and the same is happening with Denis. A strong push towards a player whose beahviour has always been exemplary.
