FC Barcelona want to tie down the future of the MSN as soon as possible. The first to renew was Neymar, who agreed to a deal until 2021. Just the signature is lacking.
The next will be Luis Suarez. Talks between the player’s agents and Barça got underway before the summer and the club are clear that the Uruguayan must be compensated on the same economic level as the Brazilian. As for Lionel Messi, negotiations are already underway to link him to the club beyond 2018.
Messi earns the most in the squad at 21.2 million euros net. No-one disputes that he should be the best paid player at the club. Neymar is behind him on his new terms, earning 16 million euros. The club are now working on improving Suarez’s contract. His current deal ends in 2019, but his contract is much lower than the other members of the trident at 10 million euros.
The frontman’s performances have been extraordinary since his debut at the Bernabeu in 2014. He’s scored 94 goals in less than two years defending the Barça shirt. His level has been phenomenal. For that reason, both the club and the player are in talks over a deal in the same realm as Neymar’s, the second top earner.
Both parties are on the same page, so it’s not expected that the talks will drag on. Minus the final, small details, everything could be tied up soon.
