Ivan Rakitic appeared on the television show El Hormiguero on Monday night, where he was interviewed by the presented Pablo Motos.
The Croatian spoke about various aspects of football, but also about his personal life away from the game. And, of course, Lionel Messi came up.
"Messi’s the reference," the midfielder said. "Our play depends a lot on him, there’s no need to talk to understand him, a gesture is enough. He’s the best in history, capable of turning a game around in a second.
"He’s shy because he knows that everyone is looking at him. But he was one of the first to help me when I got to the club, asking me if I needed anything. He’s different to other people.”
The footballer also talked about receiving news of Barça's interest before the 2014 World Cup -- "a dream come true" -- and said that singer David Bisbal's tracks helped him to learn Spanish.
