Neymar has spoken to ESPN about the opportunity he had to join Manchester United from Barcelona in the summer.
“We had conversations, but there was nothing concrete,” he admitted. “I heard that there were offers, but none made it to me.”
The Brazilian also spoke about the Ballon d’Or: “I hope to continue doing my work and giving my all, to evolve each season so that I will be at least on the Ballon d’Or podium.”
He also spoke about the demand at Barça this season: “It is more complicated because the moment you arrive at the top, it’s difficult to maintain it. Every team in the world wants to win [against us] and it’s more difficult all the time.”
He also said that his first season at the club could be defined by the word “learning” and his second by “realisation — to win the titles that I had always dreamed of and to make history with Barça.”
