Three goals, three points and another record for Barcelona forward Lionel Messi. The Argentina can now boast of having won more games in a Barça shirt than any other player in official competitions.

Messi's hat-trick against Real Betis helped the Catalans win 4-1 and brought up 477 wins in Blaugrana for the player himself. He replaces Xavi Hernandez at the top of the pile. Xavi won 476 games playing for the club, although he played many more games (767). Messi's wins have come in just 674 appearances.

Messi is also second on the podium for most wins in La Liga. He has won 333 matches in Spain's top flight, a figure only bettered by former Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas and ex-Barça stopper Andoni Zubizarreta (both 334).

But Messi has needed fewer games to reach the impressive number. Casillas' came in 510 games, while Zubizarreta's came in 622. In contrast, Messi has now won 333 La Liga games in just 444 outings.
