Lionel Messi reiterated his desire to win the Champions League this season as Barcelona look to end a barren run in Europe's top competition.
Barça won the trophy in 2015 under Luis Enrique but have been eliminated in the last eight in each of the last three seasons.
Messi, who has won the Champions League four times during his career, spoke of his desire to get his hands back on the title before the Boca Juniors game in the Joan Gamper Trophy.
Speaking to Catalunya Radio, he has once again insisted that the European Cup should be Barça's top priority this season.
"This year, I think it's time to win the Champions League [again]," he said. "We've had three seasons in a row getting knocked out in the quarterfinals.
"Last year was the worst because of the result we had in the first leg and how the game went in the second leg.
"I think that as a club and as a team we have to target winning the Champions League. We have a spectacular squad and we can do it. We don't say it for the sake of saying it, we have a squad that can compete and fight to win the competition."
The full interview with Messi will be broadcast on Catalunya Radio on Monday evening.
