The English press are beginning to suggest that Philippe Coutinho could leave Liverpool for Barcelona after all. The media in the UK report that the player is convinced he has played his last game for the club, on Dec. 30 against Leicester, an The Times have even looked at how much the Brazil international will cost.
The price mentioned is no less than 133 million pounds, which is around 150 million euros. Only if Barça hit that amount will Coutinho be allowed to leave Anfield during the current transfer window. Coutinho's hopes of leaving this month are big, given that things have changed since the summer, when Liverpool prevented him leaving.
Now he could move to Camp Nou if the Blaugrana heed to Liverpool's demands. The Premier League side are set to make a huge amount of money on the player, who they signed from Inter in 2013 for just 10 million euros.
In the summer, Liverpool rejected three Barça offers, but in contrast to then they no longer declare Coutinho as not for sale. They want 150 million euros, the amount the Catalan club could pay for Ousmane Dembele when all potential bonuses are considered.
It's a radical change from the summer when Mike Gordon, the president of Fenway Sports Group, Liverpool's owners, told Coutnho that he was not leaving. Now the door is open... as long as Barça pay 150 million euros.
