French newspaper L'Equipe has revealed the details of the contract on offer to Antoine Griezmann in the case that he joins Barcelona after confirming he will leave Atletico Madrid this summer.
In France, they say Barça are in pole position ot land Griezmann and that they've offered him a five-year deal worth 17 million euros net per year.
The base of the negotiations goes back to last year, when the Atletico forward turned down Barça and committed to the Madrid club via a documentary called The Decision.
Griezmann told Atletico's hierarchy on Tuesday, though, that he will leave the club at the end of the season and later posted a video on social media explaining his decision to the club's fans.
If Barça is his next destination, he will pen a deal with the Catalans until 2024 according to L'Equipe. His salary of 17 million will be less than the 21 million he makes at Atletico, but he will make more in sponsorship and marketing at Camp Nou.
Talks advanced after Atletico's loss to Juventus in the Champions League. The reports in France suggest things were tied up late in March.
Barça -- or whoever signs Griezmann -- will have to pay his release clause to the league when it drops to 120 million euros on July 1.
