Gustavo Poyet, Malcom’s former coach at Bordeaux, spoke to Cadena SER about the hard start the Brazilian had at Barcelona.
“I have no doubt that Malcom has the level to play for Barcelona,” said the Uruguayan coach. Malcom has to “take on board concepts to show that he can, when they give him the chance”, added Poyet.
The winger arrived at Camp Nou for 41 million euros. He has played just 25 minutes so far in official games and it seems he is not adapting to Ernesto Valvere’s tactical scheme.
“The 4-3-3 suits him very well as a winger. He has quality and is very young,” said Poyet.
The coach also spoke about Luis Suarez. He says that Suarez helps Leo Messi “thanks to his presence and movements, which allow him to take advantage a lot of times.”
