Luan Guilherme is now the only Brazilian attacking option for Barcelona to potentially sign this summer.
The Blaugrana's reports on the striker are excellent but negotiations between both parties will have to be put on hold for now, as Luan is currently representing Brazil at the Rio Olympic Games. Gremio were initially reluctant to let the 23-year-old leave and had refused to negotiate with Liverpool and an Italian club.
Barça sporting director, Robert Fernandez, spoke with Luan's representative during his first trip to Brazil and has kept in contact ever since. The Catalan club recognised the interest shown for a deal to be agreed and that Luan has been watched closely in the last few seasons by clubs across Europe.
It's clear that the Brazilian is a good striker and has sufficient qualities to integrate himself smoothly into European football. Luan has also spoken with Neymar regarding the Blaugrana's interest, but there are still other young attacking options on the table.
In any case, Barça are clear that the club want to sign a new, young forward with potential to develop and take the team forward.
