Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuain didn’t choose his compatriot Lionel Messi when it came to picking the best player of all time.
In an inteview with Premium Sport, the Argentine declared that “when I was a kid I followed Italian football and there were the great forwards like Trezeguet, Batistuta, Crespo and Montella, but for me, the best of all time is Ronaldo.”
In exchange, Higuain considers that of current players “Messi is the best and he demonstrates it every day.” He also spoke about Luis Suarez, saying the Barcelona forward is “at a very high level and he’s improved a lot compared to when he was at Liverpool.”
The Juve forward doesn’t have good memories of facing former Barça defender Carles Puyol: “Apart from my dad, the toughest defender I’ve played against was Puyol. When I played against Barcelona he was insufferable.”
