Ivan Rakitic could be at Juventus next season, according to Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport. The Serie A side have become the front runners to sign the midfielder in the case that he has to leave Barcelona in the summer.
Rakitic, according to the report, has already said 'yes' to Juve ahead of other options, such as Inter Milan.
The Croatian is hoping for an improved contract at Camp Nou after Barça completed a deal for Ajax midfielder Frenkie de Jong, who will offer competition for places.
In Italy, they say De Jong's arrival will open the door for Rakitic to leave Barcelona and that he has the profile which Juve are looking for as they look to strengthen due to the imminent departure of Sami Khedira, who will leave the Turin club at the end of the season.
Rakitic joined Barça in 2014 and has been an ever-present under Luis Enrique and Ernesto Valverde. The latter convinced him to stay last summer amid interest from Paris Saint-Germain and will not want to lose him this year, either.
