Didier Deschamps believes the main difference between Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi is that the Frenchman is capable of leading the national team to a World Cup, as he showed last summer.
"Messi and Mbappe are two different players, with different characteristics, but one thing is clear, Kylian is out of this world," Deshamps told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
"I think they belong in the same category of player, but Kylian is very young. I don't want to take anything away from Kylian but Messi is at an incredible level after 10 years."
The main difference for the Frenchman is that Mbappe has won a World Cup at 19.
"Kylian has great chances of having a great career too. He's doing important stuff already, although others before him haven't been able to win a World Cup. He has a long way to improve too."
