Barcelona's interest in Sevilla defender Clement Lenglet is nothing new. The Catalan club have followed him since he was 16 and playing for Nancy. They have watched his progress through France's youth setup. The player had an offer from Juventus at 18, but rejected it. In January there was a deal on the table from Sevilla, and he decided it was time to move on.
Now 22, Lenglet has become one of the most promising centre-backs in Europe. His performance at Camp Nou was further evidence of that and for that reason, Barça are still carefully monitoring him.
Last summer, the French defender's people spoke with Barça during the final days of the transfer market. Now, his good performances have increased the interest and he's one of the candidates to strengthen the defence with an eye on the future. He's a player the club may move for next season.
