While the members of the first team squad that didn't play at the World Cup return to training today, Carles Aleña continues his rehabilitation as he looks to get back out on the pitch as soon as possible.
Aleña suffered an injury on the 2nd June in Barça B's final match of the season. Five days later he went to Finland in order to have surgery to reduce the tendon tear in his right hamstring. The rehabilitation period is set to take around three and a half months.
The academy star, who had hoped that the 2018/19 season would finally give him an opportunity to figure into Ernesto Valverde's plans during preseason, will miss the United States tour as he continues to work his way back to fitness.
This is Carles Aleña's message on Twitter: "We carry on with the rehab day by day. It won't be long now..."
