Carles Alena, FC Barcelona midfielder, says there is no type of deal between himself and coach Ernesto Valverde so that he can have minutes in the first team this season. The player, who has played for Barca B over the past few weeks after coming back from injury, said "it's not easy" to consolidate his place in the first team, but he has patience.

"The idea is not to spend the whole year in the B team," said Alena, who wants to play for the first team. "It's not easy to make the jump but what I can say is that Valverde and I have not agreed anything about the situation."

Alena spoke at the Antigua Fabrica Damm at the Gala of the Stars of Catalan Football on Tuesday. He won the award for player with the most potential, given to him by Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu.

"I don't imagine myself leaving Barca. I'm at the best club in the world and from a seven year old my dream has been to be here."
