According to 'Canal + France', Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann will announce on Tuesday in a press conference that he will continue with the Rojiblanco, accepting their offer to renew and turning down the chance to move to Barcelona.
Griezmann was close to closing a move to Barça after months of talks once his release clause dropped to 100 million euros on July 1. However, Atletico responded with a counter-offer which will make him the club's best paid player by some distance. In addition, everyone at the club, from directors to players to coach Diego Simeone have campaigned for him stay. A campaign which ended with the conquest of the Europa League, a final which he starred in.
The turning point has been the differences within his family over the final decision, with some keen for him to remain in Madrid and others backing a move to Barcelona.
But, according to 'Canal + Francia', Griezmann has decided to stay with Atletico and lead the club's project.
