Sergio Busquets, Barcelona and Spain's central midfield lynchpin, admitted that he found Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu's comments on who he wanted to win the World Cup rather strange.

Interviewed by 'Cuatro', the Barcelona player was speaking in response to Bartomeu's wish that Argentina won the World Cup for Lionel Messi.

"It's strange because he has players from different countries and he could've been more politically correct. I don't know, you'd need to ask him about his motives, maybe he has Argentinian family," joked Busquets.

Busquets added that each person's preferences are different and concluded that Bartomeu wants Argentina to win the World Cup "for how much he cares about Leo and Mascherano, who until recently played for Barcelona as well".
