The first new face for Barcelona B's 2016-17 campaign will be Davinson Sanchez, a 19-year-old Colombian central defender who arrives from Atletico Nacional. Sanchez, who will turn 20 in June, will cost Barça around 3.5 million euros.
His arrvial will add a physical presence to Gerard Lopez's team. We're talking about a defender who already boasts experience in the Copa Libertadores, a competition Atletico Nactional are currently in. They will face Sao Paulo in the semi-final in July.
Sanchez, who possesses great pace, has also played well in defensive midfield on occasions. Despite his youth, he's already won four league titles, two cups, a Super Cup and a Sudamericana. He recently scored his first goal as a professional, too.
Barça closed the deal a few days ago after a surge of interest from other European clubs. Finally, the club's team of scouts in South America, who had been giving glowing reports on the player, were able to get things over the line.
