It's not just Barcelona's first team who go back to work on Monday, but also Barça B, who will be playing in Segunda Division B when the new campaign kicks off.
Barça B's pre-season will begin under the orders of Gabri. The former FC Barcelona player will work with Carlos Busquets (goalkeeper coach) and Antonio Gomez (fitness coach) until a full time manager is named.
On Monday, the players will meet with the coaches, but it will not be until Tuesday that they take their fitness and medical tests. On Wednesday and Thursday there will be double training sessions. On Friday, they will travel to Torremirona, where they will stay until July 25. During this stage of pre-season, they will place against L'Escala (July 21) and another rival, as yet unconfirmed, on July 25. On August 9 they will place Llagostera in Palamos.
EIGHT FROM JUVENIL
There will be many new faces in the Barça B squad, players who have been promoted from the Juvenil ranks: Palencia (who was with Barça B at the end of last season and recently signed a new deal), Rodrigo Tarin, Jose Antonio Ros, Xavi Quintilla, Amir, Enguene, Aitor Cantalapiedra and Padilla.
LEE AND PAIK
The Korean duo Seung-Woo Lee and Seung-Hoo Paik, who have been affected by FIFA's ban, will also be with the squad. Their future has still not been decided, though, and they could still return to the Juvenil team.
JOAN ROMAN, PATRIC & DIAGNE
Gabri will not be able to count on Joan Roman (signed for Braga), Patric (signed for Lazio) or Diagne (loaned to KAS Eupen for a season) who have all departed this summer.
GUMBAU, SUAREZ AND ORTOLA...?
Luis Enrique could also claim some of Gabri's players for the time being. The midfielder Gumbau and the goalkeepers Jose Aurelio Suarez and Adria Ortola could yet travel on the tour of America with the first team.
