Ernesto Valverde asked for caution in his press conference on Tuesday when it came to talking about Antoine Griezmann.
The coach was asked about Barcelona's interest in the Atletico Madrid forward after president Josep Maria Bartomeu confirmed a meeting with his agent las October.
Valverde didn't want to step out of line, though: “Griezmann is a great player, there is no doubt about that, but we have to be careful and respectful when we’re talking about players that don’t play for us.
“In this case, we have to respect Atletico. We all know how good [Griezmann] is as a player… In the future we will see [about anything else].”
Griezmann met with Atletico president Enrique Cerezo on Tuesday for lunch, with reports suggesting it was to talk about the France star's future, but Valverde didn't see the link.
He added: "I don't know what relevance them eating together has... [Cerezo] is the president of the club he plays for."
