Klose pulls level with Brazilian legend Ronaldo

Miroslav Klose pulled level with Ronaldo on 15 career World Cup goals as he saved Germany from defeat against a spirited Ghana side.

Mario Gotze had put the fancied Europeans into the lead with a terrible header, which bounced off his own knee and into the net, after a brilliant Thomas Muller cross.

But Ghana struck back with another header, this time an extremely well-taken one, from Andre Ayew

Then the Africans stunned the spectators by going ahead, through star striker Asamoah Gyan.

His clinical finish was just the reward that Sulley Muntari's fine through-ball deserved.

But just when Ghana thought they were going to get three points on the board, on came Klose.

The beanpole striker tucked home from all of one yard after a Howedes flick on from a corner.

It levelled the scores at 2-2 and sent Klose level with Brazil legend Ronaldo at the summit of the all-time World Cup top scorers chart.

The result leaves Ghana in a precarious position, after they lost their opener to the USA.

Germany, who thrashed Portugal 4-0, are still well placed to qualify.
