"Ronaldo was 'me, me, me' -- he reminds me of when I was 12 years old"

Mads Timm, an former Manchester United player, has commented on the Madrid man's ego

Mads Timm, a former Manchester United player who has gone on to play for a long list of teams, has published his autobiography in which he dedicates a small part to Cristiano Ronaldo.

During his time at Old Trafford, the Danish footrballer had the chance to find out a little about Ronaldo's character. His analysis is curious.

"He's completely indifferent to the collective side of the game. He was 'me, me, me'," Timm wrote.

"These days, after so much success, he can still get annoyed when one of his team mates scored instead of him. Mentally, he reminds me of when I was a 12-year-old."

"I think he doesn't care what people think of him and that's one of the reasons why he has been able to survive in professional football."

Ronaldo's former team-mate also remembers how hard the Real Madrid man worked to reach the pinnacle of the game, though, admitting the two men are completely different.

He added: "I hated the atmosphere in Manchester, but he was totally the opposite. He was focused and he had unwavering faith in himself and that was reflected out on the pitch.

"I remember a practice match in training when I was the left wing and he was on the right on the opposing team. Every time we crossed, he'd just fly past me. I was hardly ever out of breath after a training session... but that day, he left me gasping."
