Real Madrid's Sergio Ramos: "This was a fucked up day"

The Real Madrid skipper wanted to take the positives but he could not hide his disappointment

Sergio Ramos showed after Real Madrid’s exit from the Copa del Rey following their 2-2 draw with Celta Vigo that some results are hard to digest.

“The truth is that the team gave everything to come back and should be proud,” said Ramos. “But it’s a fucked up day because we were eliminated from the competition. We have to turn the page and congratulate the rival.”

Asked if his team should be self-critical, Ramos said: “It wasn’t a complete game and we played with an out-of-the-ordinary line up. But the team made a lot of chances. The goal against us was bad luck, sometimes it goes in your favour. Today, no.”

Ramos insisted that you always have to take the positives out of days like these. “Despite the negative, the team stood up for itself. We did everything we could. I don’t know if today will be a signal, sometimes it goes for you and sometimes it doesn’t. Football has a bit of luck in it. We have to to draw conclusions for what’s left of the season.”
