Cristiano Ronaldo gives up the fight against Lionel Messi
"For me, this fight doesn't exist," he said. "You can't compare players. Cristiano is Cristiano and Messi is Messi."
Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo spoke to Chinese newspaper Dongiudi in an interview that, among other things, touched on his relationship with Lionel Messi, FC Barcelona's Argentine star. Cristiano did not like to be compared to the Barcelona man.
"For me, this fight doesn't exist," he said. "You can't compare players. Cristiano is Cristiano and Messi is Messi. The two are great players, individually and on a collective level," he said, after winning the newspaper's player of the year award.
"We play in different clubs, but when we are together we respect each other, I have a normal relationship with him," said Ronaldo. "People are constantly comparing us but that's normal. They even compare our children, how they grow, what they do at school, up to who is faster."
