Guardiola: I'm not going to respond to questions about Messi

The Man CIty coach is fed up of the rumours surrounding a move for the Barcelona star

Manchester City have a tough game this weekend when they visit Goodison Park to take on Ronald Koeman's Everton. Pep Guardiola has praised the work of his former team-mate.

“If you give them time and space they play good football but they also have Romelu Lukaku so that helps them play more direct," he said.

“Ronald Koeman is well adapted to English football so this will be a hard game.”

Guardiola confirmed the return of Vincent Kompany and spoke about John Stones' return to his old side. The Catalan was also asked about the possibility of moving for Messi, but refused to responde. Here are Pep's phrases:

An offer for Messi? "I've responded to this question three times. I'm not going to respond anymore."

Kompany back: "Fernando has a knock and Kompany is back. De Bruyne was ill, but he's OK. I don't want to put too much pressure on Kompany. He has to train, play and from there he can recapture his form.

Stones at old club: "He's a young player. It's the first time in his career he's playing every three days at the highest level. He has a lot of time to improve and we're available to help him. He's strong mentally to return to Goodison Park. I would like teams to receive players that played for them well, but we've seen in the past we can't control what happens."
